My comments: the Second World War

World War II, also called Second World War, conflict that involved virtually every part of the world during the years 1939–45.

The 40,000,000–50,000,000 deaths incurred in World War II make it the bloodiest conflict, as well as the largest war, in history.

Correct me if I'm wrong -- but I read somewhere that US nuked Japan to stop / end the war and to avoid more casualties (on both sides?). I'm not a political pundit but my question is: Didn't they foresee this right after Pearl Harbor attack? Had they nuked 'em then -- zillions of lives would've been saved? -- on both sides.

What do you guys think eh?
