A rupee a day would change our destinies -- and keep the monsters of poverty away!

Won't you shell out thirty-one rupees every month if you're convinced that that'd change the destinies of our one billion plus countrymen? You'd have to donate one rupee everyday -- That's all -- Even if less than half of our population participates in this program -- We'd generate fifty crore rupees every month -- We'd channelize this substantial sum (minus operational costs, of course) to rehabilitate -- First of all -- The visually impaired destitutes -- Because that's the most crippling disability -- Then we'd zero in on the physically impaired destitutes -- An NGO would be set up -- Its head office would be established in the capital cities of every state -- And, its branches would be formed in all the districts / villages throughtout the country -- Thirty-one rupees would automatically be deducted at source from salaried individuals every month -- And, would be credited in the account of the NGO -- The general public would voluntarily credit thirty-one rupees every month -- This is a vague idea -- the nitty-gritty could -- obviously -- be sorted out -- Individuals with strong NGO background could be hired -- A government body would oversee its operations and auditing -- Transparency and accountability would be inherent.
